Our Approach to Business Intelligence

We're extremely flexible and well versed in working with a diverse range of environments and can tailor a Business Intelligence solution to meet and exceed any need.

When it comes to extracting, transforming, loading and presenting data, our process is as follows:

Data Extraction

We are able to work with any data source, including Oracle, SAP, SQL, Excel, CSV and web services.

Transformation

If available, we'd generally use Microsoft BizTalk Server to connect any disparate systems, or if not, as we've done many times before, we would custom develop a transformation tool.

Load

Again, if working in a Microsoft environment and if it was available to us, we'd load the data onto a SQL server 2008 database and utilise SQL Server Reporting Services to facilitate the creation of the required reports. Alternatively, we can also quite easily warehouse the data in SAP, Oracle or an older version of SQL.

Presentation Layers

Again, the same scenario applies - we use anything from SharePoint, Excel, BusinessObjects, Web Services, custom .Net and OLAP - generally whatever is available to us, or what is required to meet your requirements and present your Business Intelligence in the best form for you.
